Happy and Healthy in the New Year

As the new year rolls in, we start to think about how we can make improvements to our health and well-being. At Al's Florist, we've found one of the best ways to do this is by surrounding yourself with flowers! Plants and flowers have so many benefits that you'll feel like a whole new you in no time. Flowers add color to your life. Color encourages creativity, so surrounding yourself with flowers in your favorite colors will encourage creative thought and energy as you work. Plants and flowers freshen the air. Because they breath out what we breath in, and vice versa, plants and flowers are natural air fresheners. Throw in their beautiful fragrances and you'll wonder why you didn't fill your home with flowers sooner! Green foliage is a natural stress reducer. The color green is known to alleviate stress and anxiety, so placing plants and flowers in your office is a great way to combat these things. Read More about Happy and Healthy in the New Year »

A Sunny, Scented Design

Al's Florist is grateful for spring's glorious haul of flowers, and here's why: they smell divine. We're used to praising flowers for their visual beauty, but we see the whole flower for what it is---an enticement to all of the senses. And while it's true that not all blooms are created equal when it comes to fragrance, each and every one does have a distinct scent. Even if that scent is just of freshness, it's there, and it will work its magic on you. Read More about A Sunny, Scented Design »

Spring’s Flowers Are Here!

March 21 heralds the arrival of spring, but here at Al's Florist, we're already welcoming the season's best blooms to our shelves and bins. Our geography allows us to keep gorgeous warm-weather flowers in stock all year long, for the most part, but that doesn't mean we don't get excited to showcase flowers that look as though they were just pulled from the garden come spring. Decorating with Mums and Dahlias

You may think of mums as that bushel of yellow flowers you put on your front stoop come Fall, but think again. Mums make a glorious appearance in arrangements that belong inside the home too. And then there's dahlias, everyone's favorite flower these days, and another seasonal bloom that, when added to a floral design, contributes a rich textural element and complexity. Decorating with mums and dahlias from Al's Florist & Gifts is easy this season, since we're offering designs that range from the romantic and moody to the upbeat and cheerful. Pet Costume Contestants Welcome the Season

At Al's Florist, we love being a part of the Hollywood community. We have been privileged to be a part of your celebrations and your sadness, your triumphs and your promotions. We have sent birthday surprises, and Valentine's Day love notes. We have designed flowers to welcome new babies, and to say goodbye to loved ones. Through it all, we have gotten to know you, our customers, in a personal way. One of our particularly fun interactions takes place on Halloween when we have a contest celebrating the feline, canine, and reptile members of the family.  As we look forward to October and the Halloween season, we thought we might reminisce with some of our past pet costume contestants - as we look forward to this year's fun.   Read More about Pet Costume Contestants Welcome the Season »

Autumn Colors for the Harvest Season

They say that in Florida, we can only tell that fall has arrived because the green changes to a slightly different green. But we still love the spirit of the season, and many of us come from places which still generate memories of changing leaves, apple picking and hot cocoa. If you are looking for creative ways to spruce up your Hollywood home decor with autumn colors, Al's Florist has many beautiful options, from sophisticated to rustic. No matter your fall style, we've  got what you are looking for. Autumn colors reflect all of the deep burgundies and burnt oranges of fall foliage, but one of our favorite colors is rich gold. And one of our favorite fall floral arrangements features golden mokara orchids, with colors reminiscent of a glowing fall campfire. Named Orchid Embers, this arrangement will infuse your space with warmth and elegance and is sure to welcome fall in beautiful style. This floral design is perfect for home decor, or to send as an exotic gift.   Read More about Autumn Colors for the Harvest Season »

When you are planning your summer parties, don't forget the small details that will make your time together even more memorable - summer centerpieces and seasonal flowers from Al's Florist are a beautiful way to add color and style to your get-together. Spring Flowers Arrive in Hollywood

We live in a place where the changing of the seasons is not nearly as dramatic as it is in other places. Still, the gorgeous days of springtime in Florida are truly special. As floral designers, we appreciate having the new flowers in the shop, all of the vivid colors, and the opportunity to create amazing designs for a new season. So whether you have a special occasion or simply want to brighten your home - the best place in Hollywood to get spring flowers is at Al's Florist. Did You Know? Many flowers of spring grow from bulbs, such as tulips, daffodils, hyacinth, and crocus. These bulbs are generally planted in the fall, grow roots in the winter and emerge in the spring.  Read More about Spring Flowers Arrive in Hollywood »
