“Never believe that a few caring people can’t change the world. For, indeed, that’s all who ever have.” Margaret Mead

They show up day after day, and will most likely tell you that they are only doing their jobs. But these unsung heroes of the Hollywood community are doing their part every day to inspire, encourage, comfort, and strengthen those in their care. These are the behind-the-scenes world changers, the ones who may never be named but are always appreciated. teacher appreciation

National Teachers Week:
“A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.” –Henry Brooks Adams

A great educator does much more than present a curriculum. Teachers see the potential in each and every student and help these kids and young adults to grow and learn every day. When adults are asked to identify a positive influence in their life, many will speak of a special teacher. National Teachers Week is May 7th-13th and is a great opportunity to thank your teachers, past or present. Let them know that what they do, every day, matters!

Socially Speaking: On May 9th, join the teacher appreciation movement. Post your story or a special photo on any social media platform, with the hashtag #ThankATeacher.

National Nurses Week:

“Our job as nurses is to cushion the sorrow and celebrate the joy ‘while we are just doing our jobs'”. Christine Belle, RN,BSN

Running nearly concurrently, National Nurses Week takes place from May 6th-12th, culminating on Florence Nightingale’s birthday. May 6th is also known as National Nurses Day – and is your chance to send a very important nurse a thank-you gift of s. There are approximately 3.1 million nurses reporting for work daily – and from the birth of a baby to the struggle of an illness, they are with us every step of the way. No one else is qualified to combine such skill, strength, and compassion into every shift – nurses are truly the backbone of any medical center.

Whether to thank a nurse who was with you through a dramatic situation or a teacher who helped to shape your life – these very important professionals often work without recognition. In May, Als Florist joins with you to change that. Let them know in a beautiful way that they have made a true difference in your life.
