Make a Veteran’s Day

There are plenty of ways to honor our veterans. We should know, we’ve been doing it in one form or another since 1919 when the celebration was known as ‘Armistice Day.’ The intent was to both honor our military and commemorate the end of World War I, which took place on the same day in 1918. Eventually, we got around to calling it “Veterans Day,” which put the emphasis right back on the people who served. This is exactly what you should do, this Veterans Day, with the vets you know and love. At Al’s Florist, we’ve got some ideas.

We have a few favorites here at Al’s, and this is definitely one of them. In offerings to a vet, it’s an excellent idea to reference the colors of the flag if possible. And in the case of our Here’s to You bouquet, it is. Bright red daisies and carnations are surrounded by golden roses and mums – not exactly white, but who can argue with that gloriously gold hue? The showstopper here – and the way to your patriot’s heart – would be that blue hydrangea, that grows prodigiously up north in huge bushes. Here it nearly steals the show as it contributes its stunning color to a scheme that’s perfect for Veterans Day.

Thank a veteran or someone who is currently serving with a happy bundle of fresh s. Al’s Florist is willing to part with one of our fave arrangements, especially as someone so deserving will be at the receiving end.
