Al's Florist joins the rest of the country this May 28th to honor those men and women who sacrificed their lives in service to country. We gather together to attend parades and ceremonies devoted to celebrating their legacy, and we also host dinners, parties and barbecues in our own homes, often outdoors. Flowers are a customary part of any celebration, while also being a traditional gift to offer someone who is deserving. In many cases, Memorial Day centers around the people who have been most impacted by the loss of someone who served in the military. Earth Day is April 22, a global celebration of our planet and an opportunity to raise awareness for how we can take care of it and what we could be doing better. Think of it as Earth's birthday, a time when we all join in to appreciate terra firma and learn more about it. In our community, there will be recycling drives, clean-ups, environmental fairs and other events taking place that give us all the chance to come together and do something to make our planet a better place.
